DC Department of General Services / Department of Parks and Recreation

Congress Heights Recreation Center, Washington, DC

The project will build a new Congress Heights Recreation Center that will include enhanced amenities such as a gymnasium, kitchen, flexible computer lounge, and multipurpose spaces. The project will also replace the existing playground and include additional park space improvements.

Georgia Gwinnett College

Gateway Center, Lawrenceville, GA

Hughes Group Architects is teamed with SSOE to design a new convocation center for Georgia Gwinnett College (GGC). The facility will provide opportunities for events on campus while also being an ‘everyday space’ for GGC students and faculty.

Fairfax County Public Schools

Justice High School Addition, Falls Church, VA

A 45,200 SF addition to an existing high school. The project consists of new laboratory/classroom facilities and a cafeteria expansion to meet the ED Specs requirements for a 2,200-student high school. The expansion is a three-level building to fit the tight site campus constraints.

Loudoun County

Aldie Fire Station #7, Aldie, VA

The new 20,000 SF career/volunteer station serves the Aldie area southwest of Loudoun County. The facility will have five drive thru bays and amenities to accommodate a staff of 16. The design incorporates gable roof forms with stone and stucco reflecting the historic character of the area.

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad

Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue Station #1

The new 22,800 SF volunteer station serves the Town of Gloucester and neighboring vicinity. The facility will have six drive thru bays and amenities to accommodate a staff of ten. The project also includes a separate 7,200 SF Training Hall. The building is designed to blend with the urban fabric and to serve as a landmark at the southern entry of the town.
